Pam Walton, Napa Valley therapist

About

Pam Walton
MA, MS, LMFT

I have been a mental health provider in Napa, CA since 2000. Prior to beginning a private practice, I worked for a variety of local non-profits and in the public sector  as a Licensed Mental Health Clinician at  Napa County Child and Family Behavioral Health and the Napa Valley Unified School District.

I also have a master's degree in Physiology. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a research associate at UCSF for 11 years in the field of neuropsychology. My understanding of neuroscience research and how the brain works, are useful assets in helping clients understand themselves and their behaviors.

Another area of expertise that I bring into my work is that of mindfulness. I am a certified mindfulness instructor and have been practicing and teaching mindfulness for over 35 years.  I have taught mindfulness extensively to both teachers and students at NVUSD as well as given numerous public presentations and trainings on mindfulness and its applications to the practice of psychotherapy (see below).
