Pam Walton, Napa Valley Therapist

Psychotherapy Services

Today's world can be an overwhelming and stressful place. However, the very things that challenge us the most, hold our greatest opportunities for love, connection and joy. My practice weaves together advances in neuroscience, mindfulness meditation and evidence-based psychotherapy practices (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Somatic Experiencing).

I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, ADHD, neurodiversity, and work and relationship difficulties. I work with individual adults, couples, children over 7yo, and families.

Welcome To My Practice!

My work in the mental health field spans over 38 years. Over this time I have worked in neuroscience and neuropsychology research (at UCSF), community mental health (Napa County Child and Family Services, Aldea and Mentis), and school-based mental health services (at NVUSD). I have over 40 years of experience studying and practicing Buddhism (including 4 years living in a Zen Buddhist monastery).  I have given numerous presentations on the use of Buddhist principles and meditation in the treatment of mental health problems.

I have been in private practice since 2006. As your therapist, I see my role as that of a guide. I believe that you possess the wisdom you need to understand what is right for you.  I can help you see where you are stuck, identify where you want to go, and give you the tools you need to get there.
